Sport is an important
issue in Californian life. San Francisco and San Diego
had teams in the National Football League, as well as
basketball teams. In addition there is horse racing competitions
in Los Angeles and San Francisco. California is the ideal
place for all those who practice watersports, scaling
or ski, and the beaches of Orange County are among the
best of the world when it’s surfing time.
The extensive California mountains, forests, valleys and
coast provides an ample range of outdoors activities.
Hiking, ski, fishing, mountain bike... whatever you want,
you will find it here. The national parks are administered
by the National Parks Service of Parks, and habitually
have Visitor’s centres with information on routes,
fishing permissions, activities, weather reports, etc.
Most of the parks charge a fee between 4 and 20 dollars.
But saying California is to say sea and beaches, and all
the activities that can be made there. Swimming, surf,
windsurf, diving, snorkelling, sailing... you decide.
