The
Deserts region
Is in the Southeast of California and has fabulous landscapes,
with a sky always clear. The cities are a sample of the
history of the pioneers. Among the natural curiosities
is the Death Valley (Death Valley National Monument) or
the Joshua Tree National Monument; in spring can be found
wild flowers in the desert. Most of the visitors explore
the ghost towns near the mythical Route 66.
Barstow was originally a centre of railway transference,
and today had become a good base from where to visit the
region. From here, the visitors can undertake a visit
to the ghost town of Calico, a 19th century mining city,
where it’s possible to encamp and made excursions
to the mines.
Another interesting place is the Joshua Tree national
park, 220 square kilometres of preserved land, with many
opportunities to go on trip or to scale. In the borders
of the Colorado River, more exactly in the towns of Needles
and Blythe, are numerous possibilities for the fans of
water sports; fishing, oar and swimming are just some
of those possibilities.
