California
Science Academy
Founded on 1835, it’s the first scientific institution
of the American west. It has eight investigation departments,
and its collections have demonstrated to be very important
tools in animal plants and mineral studies, as also in
anthropology and biodiversity comparative studies.
Within its facilities are the Museum of Natural History,
with fossils, minerals and birds collections; the Steinhart
Aquarium, a classic European style aquarium with more
than 1000 species of salty and fresh water fish; and the
Morrison Planetarium, with entertaining star shows in
broad daylight.
