San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art
The permanent collection of the San Diego Museum of Contemporary
Art includes more than 3,000 works created after 1950,
in all technical sorts: painting, sculpture, paper works,
photograph, video, film and installations. The museum
is known for collecting the work of beginner and promising
artists and of artists non recognized, as well as of emblematic
figures of the contemporary art.
Some of the specialization areas of the collection are
the minimalism and the Pop Art of the 60´s and 70´s,
the conceptual art from the 60´s to the present,
art installations, Latin-American art and art of California,
specially the one of the San Diego/Tijuana area.
