The Central Valley
It’s the agricultural region of California and one
of the most productive of the world. Covered by orchards,
farms and vineyards fed by a network of rivers and lakes,
offers a pile of recreational outdoors opportunities.
There is also an abundance of historical sites to explore,
and refuges from where the visitors can observe native
animals in their natural habitat. The history of the region
is in the Kern County Museum, in Bakersfield, one of the
main cities of the zone.
Fresno is the fifth bigger city of the State, and seat
of the Sequoia and Yosemite national parks. In Fresno
is the thematic park Storyland, plenty of buildings inspired
by fairy tales. In the Metropolitan Museum of Fresno is
a permanent exhibition in memory of William Saroyan, winning
writer of the Pulitzer and Oscar awards. An ideal place
for fishing, sailing and water sports is the Delta formed
by the mouths of the Sacramento, San Joaquin and Mokelumne
rivers.
