Inland
Empire
Centred around the cities of San Bernardino and Riverside,
this is a region that has had a fast growth. Just an hour
away of Los Angeles, the landscape is very varied -eternal
snows mountains, sand dunes and farms- that make of the
zone an ideal film scenario. San Bernardino -known as
"Friendly City"-, combines the comforts of a
great city with the atmosphere of a small town. It is
home of the "Renaissance Pleasure Faire", a
fair that recreates the atmosphere of the Elizabethan
times, and that is made all the weekends between May and
June. In September is celebrated the Route 66 Encounter,
event that reunites the car fans of the country.
Towards the south of San Bernardino, in Redlands, are
located the Marmalade Mansions, 300 old Victorian houses
constructed by citric industry magnates.
In Riverside is the University of California Riverside
Botanical Garden, 16 hectares of gardens, rosebushes and
desert plants.
