Los
Angeles County
Los Angeles is the world-wide capital of the entertainment,
and offers theatres, ballets and concerts, in addition
to all the film stars living in Hollywood. Some of the
best museums of the United States are in Los Angeles,
as well as many prestigious restaurants and several natural
parks.
The city is divided into five regions: Centre, Hollywood,
the Valleys, Westside and the beaches. It’s not
accidental that the car culture and the aerospace and
film industries took seat in the area, a place in which
almost each conceivable whim, way and style -and some
inconceivable too- have its hour, his specialized store,
his followers. The city offers an arsenal of attractions
and diversions of world-wide class, an abundance of museums,
Hollywood stars and ethnic enclaves.
Hollywood is the undisputed capital of the industry of
the western film; most of the television films and shows
are made here. The streets and the beaches are often used
as locations, although most happens behind the guarded
doors of the several studios scattered through the city,
although several of them can be visited for a tour, like
those of the NBC, Warner and Universal.
The West Side is formed by the most prestigious city districts:
Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood, Brentwood and Bel
Air. Here is the greater star concentration by square
meter, and usually in the corners are salesmen of maps
with the locations of the houses of the most famous actors
and actresses. In Beverly Hills is the most famous commercial
street of the world, Rodeo Drive, besides to have on the
Film and Television Museum.
Santa Monica touches the visitors with its cliff coast,
dressed in palms and small town atmosphere. The prosperous
artistic scene, and his fashionable restaurants adds an
air of European sophistication to this beach community.
The main beaches include the State beaches of Santa Monica
and Will Rogers. But the symbol of this city is the Pier,
the oldest of the west coast, constructed in 1908 during
the time of splendour of the city as a tourist centre.
The beach area of Los Angeles is a great place where to
spend the time. The visitor can take sunbathes in a reserved
cove in Malibu, or travel in bicycle or rollerblades throughout
the boulevard of Santa Monica, stop in front of the street
artists in Venice Beach, and be astonished with the filigrees
that surfers tile in the Hermosa and Redondo beaches.
The beach areas offer other diversions; in Malibú,
for example, it is the Barbara Streisand Centre for the
conservation studies, or the Bergamot Station complex,
where the art lovers will find many art galleries.
